In order to better solve the technical problems of cold-start performance of fuel cell electric vehicles in low temperature environment, and help hold the "Green Winter Olympics", starting from 2018, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) and China Society of Automotive Engineers (CSAE) have carried out research on the testing for FCV’s cold-start performance in low temperature environment on the stack, engine and complete vehicle level, as well as the standard formulation work. In 2019, they have released the jointly formulated dual-numbered standards T/IHFCA 01-2019, T/CSAE 122-2019 "Test Methods for Cold Start Performances of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles Under Sub-zero Temperature". Once the standard was released, it was widely recognized in the industry, and was successfully adopted by many fuel cell vehicle companies (Winter Olympic partners) such as Yutong, Foton, GAC, Toyota, and Beijing Ludian. Relying on this standard, the fuel cell vehicle companies have developed and verified the cold-start performance of fuel cell electric vehicles in low temperature environment, developed products and successfully served the Beijing Winter Olympics.
