Call for IHFCA Standardization Needs for 2025

To all branch institutions, members of IHFCA, and related organizations,

In response to the growing demands for industrial technological innovation and application development, and to effectively organize the 2025 IHFCA Standard projects, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) is now broadly soliciting standardization needs from relevant companies and institutions worldwide.

I. Principles and Scope

The International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association Standard, referred to as the “IHFCA Standard”, consists of technical documents collaboratively developed and published by the association and its members. These standards are intended for voluntary adoption by IHFCA members and the broader society. They aim to foster global hydrogen and fuel cell technology development and application, contributing to the achievement of global carbon neutrality goals.

IHFCA Standards focus on general purpose, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage & distribution, hydrogen refuelling, hydrogen safety, fuel cells, fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen applications. The standards align with trends in the hydrogen and fuel cell industries and international consensus to enhance global industry collaboration.

II. Timeline

(1) Submission of Applications:

Interested parties should complete the IHFCA Standard Project Application Form ( Click here to download) and submit it via email to:

rongjingbao@ihfca.net

Deadline: December 31, 2024

(2) Consolidation and Evaluation:

For new standard proposals, the Secretariat of the IHFCA Standardization Working Committee will review the compliance of application materials with project initiation requirements and conduct standard coordination reviews.

By February 10, 2025, the first list of standards proposed for review will be identified.

For newly submitted standardization needs, experts will prioritize research on global, urgent, and widely applicable standards. Applications received after December 31, 2024, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

(3) Project Establishment:

IHFCA plans to convene a centralized standards review meeting of 2025 in late March for the first batch of IHFCA Standards. During this meeting, the annual standard development plan will be finalized based on preliminary reviews, coordination efforts, and expert opinions.
