Hydrogen is an important alternative to traditional fossil fuels and a major driver of achieving global carbon neutrality. Driven by this goal, the development of hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) has become a global consensus. The establishment of systematic standards in hydrogen and FCVs will ensure high efficiency, high quality and high security in this field.
In January 2023, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) became a Category A Liaison with ISO’s Hydrogen Technologies Technical Committee (ISO/TC197). This marks another important step for IHFCA in promoting the internationalization of hydrogen standards.
IHFCA is committed to carrying out international hydrogen standard development in the fields of hydrogen, fuel cells and FCVs, etc. It builds an international cooperation and exchange platform for international standardization, promoting exchanges and cooperation among members and their countries with ISO, improving the standardization level of hydrogen and FCV industry, and ultimately realizing its healthy development.
IHFCA will hold the International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Standards Summit with the theme of "Standard-Defined Hydrogen World" on May 11, 2023 during the "Beyond EXPO" to promote the development and certification of international standards for hydrogen and FCV industry and to improve the consistency of standards and to achieve a win-win result for the industry.
