Dear IHFCA Members and Partners,
To deepen international cooperation in the hydrogen energy sector and jointly explore pathways for green development, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) plans to host the Parallel Forum on "Promoting Green Hydrogen Applications to Provide an Ideal Pathway for Deep Decarbonization in Modern Production and Life" on October 28, 2025, in Beijing, as part of the World Science and Technology Development Forum (WSTDF) 2025.
The World Science and Technology Development Forum 2025, organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), will be held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence Empowering Science and Development.” The forum will feature nine parallel sessions and several exchange activities focusing on artificial intelligence, green technologies, global collaboration, and other key topics. As the competent authority for IHFCA’s operations, CAST is committed to building a dialogue platform for Chinese and international scientists to jointly exchange knowledge, promote openness, trust, and cooperation within the global scientific community.
At present, accelerating the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology, as well as promoting energy structure transformation, has become a global consensus and a vital pathway to achieve low-carbon emissions, replace traditional fossil fuels, and help the world reach carbon neutrality and net-zero targets. The global community urgently needs to jointly advance the development of the entire hydrogen energy value chain, including production, storage, transportation, refueling, and utilization. It is essential to strengthen R&D efforts in core and critical technologies, build up technology reserves, conduct demonstration and validation, and promote large-scale applications. Priority should be given to key areas such as green hydrogen for the chemical industry and hydrogen energy for transportation, accelerating industrial deployment, using the transportation sector as the pioneer, and progressively expanding diversified hydrogen energy application scenarios.
However, the global hydrogen energy industry still faces significant challenges, including insufficient policy incentives, unclear end-user demand, limited financing channels, complex regulatory approval processes, and relatively high operating costs. This parallel forum will bring together distinguished experts, scholars, and leading corporate representatives from around the world in the fields of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles. They will share cutting-edge progress and practical experience, jointly promote technological breakthroughs and innovation, accelerate the establishment of a sound industrial ecosystem, and foster synergy and win-win cooperation across the entire hydrogen energy value chain.
