Hydrogen Powering Climate Action: Towards a Clean Energy Future with Net-Zero Emissions

Amidst the global push towards carbon neutrality, clean energy has emerged as the cornerstone solution to address the climate crisis and the green engine driving economic recovery. China is actively and prudently advancing towards carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, deepening the energy revolution, controlling fossil fuel consumption, and accelerating the construction of a new energy system. It is poised to become a leader in the international green energy system and a guardian of global sustainable energy security.

Hydrogen energy, with its attributes of cleanliness, high efficiency, broad application potential, and abundant sources, is recognized as the most promising new energy source of the 21st century and a crucial tool for decarbonizing the global economy. Currently, China's hydrogen energy industry is exhibiting a positive development trend, marked by continuous improvements in the supporting capabilities, maturity, and localization levels of the entire industrial chain. Industrial innovation capabilities have further enhanced, market application spaces have continued to expand, and attention has begun to be paid to potential green and low-carbon impacts on the ecological environment.

Given this context, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA), Sinopec, and the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE-FCEC), in collaboration with other organizations, are jointly organizing a side event titled "Hydrogen Powering Climate Action: Towards a Clean Energy Future with Net-Zero Emissions" during the COP29 Conference, to be held in the "China Corner" within the Blue Zone on November 13, 2024.Its goal is to exchange insights on the international development trends of hydrogen energy, showcase China's innovative hydrogen energy practices, share the story of China's green and low-carbon development, and promote the efficient and sustainable development and international cooperation of hydrogen energy.
