The global energy system is facing a historic change, and hydrogen energy has dual attributes of energy and material, and can be widely used in transportation, construction and industrial fields, which is an important way for clean and low-carbon energy transformation. Low emission hydrogen offers unique opportunities for net-zero industrial development in developing countries and transition economies to meet their climate commitments in line with the Paris Agreement. It further drives job creation, skills upgrading, and mobilize investments through establishing green industries.
In order to promote hydrogen technology innovation to accelerate production and adoption across the industrial value chain, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) will organize the COP 28 UAE Hydrogen Side Event with the theme of "Low Emission Hydrogen for Net Zero Industrial Development" to be held on December 2, 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
